Marcia Iliff Paschkis was born in Niagara Falls, NY on May 17, 2029. She died in Gwynedd, Pennsylvania on February 7, 2026 and was predeceased by her husband Albert Paschkis and her son Ted Paschkis.

She is survived by her daughters Janet Lord (Greg Lord), Julie Paschkis (Joe Max Emminger) and Karla Paschkis (Peter Turner), by her nephew Stephen Iino (Toby Miroff) and niece Catherine Iino (Paul Kahn) , by Julia Arnett (widow of Ted Paschkis), by her grandchildren Zoe Paschkis (Andrey Shlyakter), Sam Paschkis (Rachel Cilley), Amy Lord (Brad Kaye), Owen Turner and Gwen Paschkis , by Seiji Iino, Hannah Kahn, Suzanne Kahn, Annie Stenzel and by great-grandchildren Benji and Eric Kaye.

Marcia grew up in Cleveland, Ohio where she attended art classes at the Cleveland Art Museum from early childhood until she left for college. She attended Antioch College, where she met and married Albert Paschkis.

Albert and Marcia moved to Philadelphia where they lived in an interracial housing cooperative run by the Friends Neighborhood Guild. In 1955 they moved to a farmhouse in Springhouse, Pennsylvania. In 1960 they designed and built a house in Gwynedd Valley, where they lived until moving to Foulkeways in the 1990s.

In the 1980’s they designed a second small house on Wonsqueak Harbor near Birch Harbor, Maine. For over 40 years they spent months every year in beloved Maine.

Marcia was a Quaker, and a member of Gwynedd Friends Meeting.

She was an artist. She attended pottery classes at Montco College for decades, where she made dear friends and became an excellent potter. She made and sold her unique ceramics for years and they are a part of many people’s lives.

When she moved to Foulkeways she created a ceramics program where she taught other people how to work with clay. She continued making pots well into her 80s.

Marcia had a creative eye, strong opinions, a sharp intelligence, a love of beauty, of books, of nature and of art. She had a gift for making and keeping friends.

We will miss her.
