Marvin Ronald Boyd, age 77, of Lancaster and Malvern, PA, passed on February 13, 2020. He was born September 18, 1942, in Coatesville, PA.

He was the son of the late Cephas and Geraldine Smith Boyd. He was a graduate of Coatesville High School. After graduation, he entered the Navy (1960-63), and then attended Cheyney University graduating with a Bachelor of Science and Antioch College graduating with a Master’s Degree.

For over twenty years he was a special education teacher at Wilmington High School in the Red Clay School District. Earlier in his life, he worked at Lukens Steel Company and the West Chester Area School District. Additionally, he served as the assistant football coach at Wilmington High School and the track coach at Dickinson High School in Wilmington, DE. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Bay of Pigs Crisis, followed by an honorable discharge.

Marvin was married to Karen Boyd and from that union two sons were born. He is survived by his sons, Bryan Boyd (Melissa) of Maryland and S. Korea, Jason Boyd of Chicago, IL; grandchildren, Aiden J. Ryan-Boyd of Chicago, IL, Bryanna L. Boyd, Bryan G. Boyd, Jr., Bryson M. Boyd of MD & S. Korea; sister, Beverly Motley of Seat Pleasant, MD, nephews, Albert & Anthony Baylor, Christopher Motley & Dwayne Motley, Smith family, family and friends.
