Julie M. Schrepper, 82, of Gardiner, passed away peacefully on Dec. 21, 2022, at her home in Scottsdale, Ariz. with her loving husband of 44 years, Richard Schrepper, Sr., at her side.
She was born in Havertown, Pa. on Feb. 27, 1940, the daughter of Kenneth and Millicent Miller. Julie graduated from Haverford Senior High in 1957 and went onto earn a B.A. in education from Antioch College in Ohio and a M.Ed. in Special Education from The University of Michigan.
Julie was a dedicated and innovative teacher who pioneered new technologies into her special education classroom which included non-verbal students in Auburn. Her students thrived and many remained in contact for years. After her retirement, Julie worked with children up until her passing. Julie was a very special educator to all the children she taught and mentored.
Julie married the love of her life, Richard Schrepper on July 28, 1978, in New Hampshire, blending their families in a wonderful life including, taking special trips, and seeing the world together. In later years, Julie began painting beautiful cards and pictures and enjoyed playing golf with her friends and family.
Julie always said, “I’ve lived a beautiful life and I’m so thankful for my wonderful husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and our many wonderful friends.” Julie had adventurous stories to tell, the purest heart, and loved her family and friends. Julie will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Schrepper Sr.; sister, Charlotte Gruosso of Easley, S.C.; son, Richard Schrepper, Jr., his wife Cindy of Turner, daughter, Kim Soule, her husband David of Chelsea, daughter, Kelly Barber, her husband Perry of Hampton, Va. and Deborah Schrepper of Jacksonville, Fla.; nine grandchildren, Chad Schrepper of Turner, Kristen Schrepper of Rumford, Chelsea Hall of Pittston, Tekerya Schrepper of Manistee, Mich., Emily Weymouth of Pittston, Perry Barber, Jr. of Hampton, Va., Kay Barber of Hampton, Va., Hakeem Culberson of Jacksonville, Fla. and Azaryia Culberson of Jacksonville, Fla.; and six great-grandchildren, Klair Schrepper, Jeramiah and Adelaide Zupin, Will Hall, Derek and Darrell Weymouth.
