After reading “In The Matters of Color: Race and the American Legal Process” by A. Leon Higginbotham ‘49, a group of Purdue alumni started a petition on Change.org to rename Elliot Hall – named for former president Edward C. Elliot who opposed improving the living conditions of Black student housing at Purdue University.

Juneteenth Named Official Holiday
Antioch College announces that June 19—Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, Jubilee Day, and Cel-Liberation Day, which commemorates the end of slavery in the United States—will be recognized annually as an official holiday. The campus community will be encouraged to observe the holiday in reflection, celebrations, and action.
