Jacqueline Gaines


Visiting Cooperative Education Faculty Member

Jacqueline Gaines is an accomplished attorney with over 20 years of experience in business and employment litigation, as well as service as a family court magistrate. She has been recognized as an Ohio Rising Star Super Lawyer and honored with distinctions including the Dayton Bar Foundation Fellowship, the DePauw University Darnall Alumni Fellowship, and membership in the Dayton Lawyers Club. 

In addition to her legal practice, Jacqueline brings a strong commitment to education. She has served as an adjunct professor at the University of Dayton School of Law, where she taught Family Law and continues to serve as Road to Bar Passage Grader and Mentor, and at the Maurer School of Law at Indiana University, where she teaches Higher Education Law. She has also taught the Legal Aspects of Higher Education at Central State University, and she has experience instructing courses in Legal Research and Writing and Appellate Advocacy. 

Jacqueline has a proven track record of leadership in both the legal and community sectors, with active involvement in organizations such as the Dayton Bar Association, Mentoring Collaborative of Montgomery County, Njoy Njoy, and the League of Women Voters. She is passionate about using her legal and civic experience to help students succeed academically, grow professionally, and become engaged leaders in their communities.
