L. Jordan Browne


Post-doctoral Teaching Fellow

L. Jordan Browne (he/him) is a post-doctoral teaching fellow at Antioch College. Antioch is his alma mater where he received a B.A. in Psychology in 2018. Jordan went on to receive his M.A. in Psychology in 2021 and his PhD in Social Psychology in 2024 at University of Houston with his dissertation “Identity Development and Social Support in Transgender Populations.” His research focusses on combining identity and motivational theories to understand how one’s social environment impacts well-being in marginalized communities. Jordan also has worked as a grant-writer in the non-profit sector earning funding to increase public accessibility of art. He also works with other groups to advocate for diversity and higher education. Jordan is a member of the Society for Personality and Social Psychology’s Government Relations Committee.

As an instructor, Jordan’s focus is on creating an understanding learning environment which grows student interest in Psychology as well as helps students in applying Psychology to their own interests. He is passionate about reducing barriers to learning for his students. Outside of the classroom, the lab, the statehouse, and various non-profits, Jordan enjoys a good board game, a great book, and a hot cup of coffee.
